Nov 23 - Santa Rosa Island

After our one night stay at LuLu's we continued onto Santa Rosa Island and took the open anchorage. Winds are light and the tide is only 1 high and 1 low a day and at about 2 feet so this was a nice spot to stay. It also gave us the opportunity to put the paddle boards and kayaks back into the water for the first time in 4 months. We all paddled over to the island which is a long  spit of land that separates the ICW from the Gulf of Mexico. It was only a short  walk across the island to the Gulf Side, and the beach and waves were amazing. We are also finding out the amount of  salt that accumulates on the boat and us from the water.

Along the way to Santa Rosa we saw the pylons that are built and placed out in the oceans to help grow the reefs. Also we are starting to see some of the abandoned boats along the waterway, even free ones if you want to salvage it.
