Sept 30 - Leaving the Mississippi and Olmstead Lock

Our original intention was to stop at Angelo Towhead for the night, however they are dredging that area and it was not safe to stay there. So instead we decided to motor on to Olmstead Lock. Before the lock we make the turn onto the Ohio River from the Mississippi at Cairo. Cairo is a very busy port and we had many tows to  travel around, as well as dredging. Now we are going against the current and our travel is slowed considerably. We were able to make the bottom of the lock and anchored in the spillway. We will transit the lock tomorrow.
