Day 19 - August 8th

Today we travelled from Kingston to Albany, staying at the Albany Yacht Club. The voyage was a slow one as we chased the ebb current all the way slowing us by at least 1 knot all day. Again blue skies and calm waters, and still very hot. Obviously someone in one of the four boats is living cleanly to get all this great weather. Not to many new photos as we have seen most of the sites on our voyage down, but we have added some pictures from Bob's camera of yesterday's activities, and finally one with Will'n Joy by the Statue of Liberty.

Day 18 - August 7th

Today was a day off from travel. Decided to do a little sightseeing and we headed out to Rhinebeck Aerodrome to the museum and a flight in a 1929 New Reliable D25 bi-plane. We caught the last flight of the day and Jim, Bob and I had a great flight over the Hudson Valley. This afternoon we finally had our first 4:00 Happy Hour aboard the I Dock'd R. tomorrow we travel again.

Day 17 - August 6th

Departed Haverstraw, not to early and headed north again. Destination today was Kingston City Marina. Got to view the Hudson from the opposite direction now that we are heading homeward, and the view is again spectacular. With only travelling 32 miles and ending the day at 2:00pm we decided to take advantage of dock water to wash to salt off the boats. Kingston was home of the Cornell Steamboat Company in the 1800's and the shop is now restoring PT boats from WWII. It looks like a daunting task. We also took advantage of the opportunity to do a little grocery shopping in Kingston and made sure that we had access to the Sea Tow services should anyone breakdown ;-)

Day 16 - August 5th

This morning we departed Lincoln Harbor Yacht Club for home. First we sent Veronica and Shawn off to New York for another day of playing tourist while we continued on with Kiwi. We travelled as far as the Haverstraw Marina which is a short day for us of only 30 miles. The ladies headed off to the close by Outlet Mall for shopping while we waited for the expected rain showers to roll through. Veronica and Shawn were finished with New York by late afternoon and drove u to the marina to spend one last night with us before heading home tomorrow morning. The brief thundershower rolled through at 7:00 and was done by 9:00. While is Haverstraw we found another Dover Soul, like the one back at LCM.

Day 15 - August 4th

Saturday in New York. Decided to take Veronica and Shawn out for a tour of the Hudson and East River up through Hell Gate with a stop along side of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Roosevelt Island,Governer Island and the UN Building. Bob and Rachel came along in their boat for the mandatory picture taking alongside the Statue. Hopefully we will get their shots of the Will'n Joy tomorrow.
The rest of the day was spent again in mid-town with Veronica and Shawn with visits to Time Square, Broadway and the Empire State Building. Sorry to be leaving New York  behind tomorrow as we start our slower paced return up the Hudson.

A few pictures from the other boaters cameras, including pictures or our mascots Shadow and Apache. the rubber gloves were a joke since one of the boats had an ongoing eye infection which nobody wanted to catch. No need to worry that's Bob checking his engines, no problems though.
