For the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 we have a new project. The fresh water tank had started leaking into the bilge this summer. Upon careful examination it is clear that the aluminum tank was put in before the floor and cabinetry. So as boating wrapped up this fall we decided to get started on this project. First thing was to pull up all the carpet between the Galley and forward cabin to get at the floor, and cut access hatches to the top of the water tank were we then cut 4 - 7" access holes. Once opened up it was clear that the leak was coming from a crack that starts from the attachment point of the internal baffle along the bottom of the tank. Our plan is to clean and sand the inside of the tank and paint with a potable water epoxy therefore creating a fully lined tank.
